You can't do much better than Talk Talk's 1988 Spirit of Eden album. The mystique around its recording (successful synthpop band disappears to record new record, bars record label from sessions, returns with something utterly unique, refuses to release singles or tour, is sued) is such a prefect mythology for it but the music truly stands alone. It's like a brief ray of perfect sunlight. There's a lot of essays/blogposts or what have you online written about the profound effect the album has had on people, and reading them, it's easy to think that there's something pretty special about this music. I think.<br />hard to pick a song and I encourage you to get the whole album in good quality and let it envelop you. if you require a sample though, I'd recommend the song 'I Believe In You'damonmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05663849212915756672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5647745169771019965.post-10562997341812755312009-04-24T09:11:00.000-04:002009-04-24T09:11:00.000-04:00yeah, gabriels oboe is a beautiful song tooyeah, gabriels oboe is a beautiful song tooAndrew Cockellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15895107105449524778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5647745169771019965.post-38742290107193211432009-04-23T10:24:00.000-04:002009-04-23T10:24:00.000-04:00The theme from the movie The Mission...
